Should My Wisdom Teeth Be Removed?

Symptoms of Problematic Molars

Wisdom teeth usually begin to erupt around the ages of 17-25, while the rest of our adult teeth come in by the age of 13. Many people do not have enough space in their mouth for their wisdom teeth to erupt properly, particularly if they have had orthodontic treatment in the past. Your wisdom teeth only need to be removed if they are causing you pain or discomfort. Some people do not need to have their wisdom teeth removed at all, so we recommend scheduling an appointment to determine whether your wisdom teeth should be extracted.

The Extraction Process

The process of a basic tooth extraction usually only takes about 5 minutes per tooth. First, your mouth will be cleaned and numbed. Then, Dr. Kimball will use specialized dental tools to loosen your tooth in its socket. Once it has been loosened, Dr. Kimball will use a set of dental forceps to gently pull the tooth out. Then, the area will be cleaned and sutured shut, and the process will be repeated for each tooth that is being extracted.
